RECYCLE
YOUR EGG SHELLS
Girls
Scouts Enjoyed Making A Different Kind of Easter Egg…Cascarones
(Known by many as Confetti Filled Eggs)
Under the skilled
leadership of Anna Gibbons, the young ladies in Girl Scout Troop #394
prepared for the Ohana Service Unit on February by researching Mexico
and saving dozens of egg shells for the month in preparation to learn
how to make Cascarones (Confetti Filled Egg Shells). Teresa
Newton-Terres showed the ladies the art and fun of creating Cascarones.
The Scout's created a
display including the eggs they created, and food they prepared.
In addition they prepared a stage "Fiesta Pequena" (small Fiesta) by
dancing the Macarena, handing out the Mexican paper flowers they made,
and smashing Cascarone above unsuspecting friends.
“These are tons of
fun!” says Alaxandra after smashing an egg above her fellow girl
scout’s head.
