Paul T. Lovette was 37 at the time of the MARIE incident. He had moved to the Santa Barbara area four months prior to joining the Raytheon researchers and the crew on the MARIE. He worked as a salesman for Vic Tanny' gym in Santa Barbara. North Carolina is where he was born, raised, and eventually laid to rest.
