The Key Missions of
Operation Ready Families
•Information
Knowledge is King. We are an information & education
network—a conduit for the flow of accurate info
We believe in providing
as much information as possible and letting Soldiers and their families glean
what they need.
•Communication
The Right
Information, given in the Right Way, at the right
time, to the right people! No rumors
•Participation -- Involvement
Volunteerism/Feeling a
vital and helpful Part of the Chain—with a sense of Belonging! Even if not deployed, the Guard takes up a
huge amount of time in family life.
Getting involved means you know what that big thing called the Guard
is all about and how it can help enhance YOUR life.
•Connection – Support/Sponsorship
At the Beginning of
Service—In-processing—FP briefing opportunity gives 1st
impression of FP
From the moment a new
Soldier arrives, sponsorship and support should be ready for them.
The Welcome of family
members gives their 1st impression of PEC. In Times
of Need be there!
•Instruction/Preparation—Training
Every time family members interact or
come to PEC —these are training opportunities.
The FRG meetings are training times.
Training is not just on
Guard Issues but on Life Issues. Provide training on Army Emergency Relief,
legal issues
at the same time you
train on home budget and communication skills. Training is part of the
rewards of volunteerism, and part of the benefits of military family life!
Each of these KEYS
unlocks the potential for self-sufficiency and stability
during required separations from home for service and in
day-to-day business
.
Now that we know WHAT
our purpose is WHEN do we share, communicate, instruct??
